Running Browser via Advanced Onion Router

AdvOR/Advanced Onion Router is a portable client for the OR network and is an improved alternative for Tor+Vidalia+Privoxy bundle for Windows users.

So, as the name says this tool is an advanced way of Onion Routing.

So les just see how to use this tool to switch our browser via various Proxies.

So after downloading the tool from the link, open the tool. And you may now see an interface like this:

Then click on the “connect” button to connect to the OR Network.

After the connection is established to the OR Network, if you feel to change the identity you can surely change the identity by clicking on the “new identity” button.

Here you can see the list of various OR running in various countries. You can connect to any one of them. As shown in the image below.


Then save the settings after selecting your new identity.

Now select the “Quick Start” option from the list given at the left side of the interface.


A new window opens up where in you can add or delete browsers that you want to work with.

For Example:

If I want to add “Firefox” browser to the list then “add” button has to be clicked and then the path of that Firefox browser (firefox.exe) is to be searched.


The path of the firefox.exe file would probably be:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox


Now name the Program name as you wish. Then click on the “Open” button.

So now you will be able to see such a thing in the tool:


And now click on the “System” option in the left menu.


Select the options to Connect automatically and to Start with Windows if you want and then save the setting “Save Settings” button.


Then Restart the AdvOR tool and then click the on the following arrow button u see in the image below.


And then select the Firefox option or whatever name you gave to your Browser.

And now you’re good to use your OR Connected Browser.
